Wenlock Olympian Walk (or run) (/Events/Wenlock Olympian Walk

I did this for a training run in 2014. Very affordable, I think it cost £15! If you decide to run this keep in mind it's for walkers and not specifically for runners; don't expect gels etc. at the aid stations. The navigation I found fairly difficult, not a complaint just a comment as I prefer ma...

North Downs Way 50

Ran this in 2013 as my first ultra. As with all the Centurion events: great people, positive vibe, well marked course. Nice to have a shuttle available from finish to start even if it is at a little extra cost.

Took part in 2016. Camping at start, very friendly staff and volunteers. Very well marked course. All of the Centurion events have a very positive community surrounding them. Definitely recommend.

Malvern Hills Ultra

Ran in 2016. Great out and back course in the countryside, fairly easy navigation following the Worcestershire Way. Friendly people, good atmosphere.

Superior 100 Mile Trail Race

Ran in 2014. It's a fair drive to get to this race from the Twin Cities but that's what makes it so special. Northern Minnesota is very remote making the point to point race course even more intriguing. Don't be fooled, the relentless up and down hills add up as does the inconsistent footing. Gre...

The Ultra Tour of Snowdonia

I ran this in 2015, with intentions of running in 2016 but was sidelined by injury. I'm already signed up for 2017! A phenomenal loop course showing all of the diverse beauty of Snowdonia. Extremely friendly people, free on site camping, and the BEST showers I've ever seen at an event! It was gre...

Derwent Dawdle

I ran this in 2017 to complete the first running of Ascend Event's fantastic triple of Four Passes, Silverdale Circuit and Derwent Dawdle. I was aware that I would probably find it tough - Four Passes was fantastic, but the technical descents are well out of my comfort zone. Silverdale was much m...

Four Passes

I ran this in 2016, and what a beauty it is! At around 18 miles, it is short in terms of distance but long in terms of quality. Starting and finishing in Rosthwaite, this route takes you, as the name suggests, through four passes. Basically you climb and then descend. Repeat another three time...
