So....... what are we gonna have ya doing this time then?

Well, we thought that you might like to have yourselves a little 50k jaunt around an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB)...........and that's what A Run With No Witty Name will provide you with. Ta dah!

Starting at the National Trust in Tisbury, nestled in the heart of the Nadder Valley and smack bang in the centre of the Cranborne Chase and West Wiltshire Downs AONB, the route will take you through some of the most truly stunning and visually stimulating countryside that the South West has to offer. ......nay........correct that......that  the entire country as to offer.

You will find yourself  making your way around the Fonthill Estate and the Vale of Wardour  for approximately 32.27 miles .....OK, we know that is a soupcon over 50K.... and completing an overall elevation of approximately 3600 ft.. Eventually (after a few bonus miles no doubt),  you will end up exactly right back where you started your journey in Tisbury. Much hilarity and back slapping will then commence.

The start point and finish point  is at the  National Trust, Court Street, Tisbury, Wiltshire, SP3 6LW .Parking will be available at the Start Point. A runners rest area with a safe baggage drop area, toilets and a Medical Team will also be located at the Start Point.

There will be 4 fully stocked aid station in total - one at the Start Point and a further three on the route itself. This will give you approximately 8 miles of running/walking/sauntering/ charging downhill/crawling uphill in between food & water stops, It's not really a 'run'..............more  of a 'mobile picnic' really.

The event starts at 0900 hrs (9am)  on Sat 06 Oct 2018. The cut off time for completing the route is 9 hours later at 1800 hrs (6pm). The course will be fully marked with tape and signage. Ran this in October 2018 - and after a very hot summer this was a sharp reminder that October had arrived: cold, wet and very windy. None of this spoilt what is a lovely run in beautiful scenery and some very big houses! The trail is is on good tracks with limited tarmac and not that technical. The checkpoints were well stocked with excellent volunteers who were really good at keeping spirits up. There was hot food at the end which was very welcome. The whole event was low key and minimum fuss - the organiser wanted to make it fun and create the right environment and he succeeded. There was a delayed start as the ambulance was late and there was a queue for the loos - but nobody was that fussed (partially outside looked unpleasant but more importantly the organiser communicated well). The signage was just about sufficient - I probably put in an extra mile. The organiser took feedback really well at the end and my only suggestion was that 'yellow' tape in autumn required the eyes of a hawk and maybe red/white would have been easier. All in all a good and enjoyable day and I would recommend it to others.
