The BIF 50 Ultra is a single loop, 50 mile ultra marathon which takes runners on a tour of the Furness Peninsula.
Starting and finishing on Walney Island, Barrow in Furness, runners head north up the coast following the Cumbria Coastal Way trail and then cut across country to pick up the Cumbrian Way.
The Cumbrian Way brings runners to the historic market town of Ulverston. From Ulverston, runners will then follow quiet country trails over rolling hills and taking in the beautiful Furness Abbey. From the abbey, runners make their way across fields and farmyards until they reach "The old line" coastal trail which will bring runners back into barrow and back on to Walney.
The race starts at 6am on Saturday and registration will be from 4.30am at Walney School (LA14 3JT).
There will be 7 checkpoints along the route.
The cut-off time for the event will be 15 hours.
