This was my first 100 miler and what an experience! I have completed the Chester 50 on two occasions which were superbly organised by GB Ultras and this latest offering did not disappoint. It was first rate from start to finish! Excellent checkpoints staffed by lovely, helpful and supportive volunteers, a great course that was very well marked and signed, and a sense of professionalism combined with a community feel. You were made to feel like part of a big family with everyone looking after you and wanting you to finish.
Race Director Wayne Drinkwater appeared on many occasions during the event to run alongside us and check on how we were doing. He and others worked into the early hours to ensure we could follow the route and replaced tape/signage as and where necessary.

GB Ultras are a class act and I would recommend their races to anyone.

I completed my first 100. Was met with hugs and photos not to mention that coveted buckle at the finish.

This was my first 100mile ultra. I had ran two 50milers previously with the GB Ultras team, and after such excellent experience's during both races, I decided to loose my 100mile virginity with them.
From the booking of the event on their web site, to the pre-race information and the help & support available on their face book page, the customer service has been outstanding.
The race itself was stunning, beautiful Cheshire countryside, with rolling hills, rivers, canals, the picturesque city of Chester and the wonderful Sandstone Trail.
There were checkpoints approximately every 10 miles, which were well stocked with a variety of sweet & savoury offerings, and plenty of drinks options. The volunteer marshalls were incredibly helpful & would help you in anyway they could to keep you fed, hydrated & motivated.
Hot food was available at two of the checkpoints and a lovely helpful young lady made me a welcome cup of tea and bowl of chicken soup at the 80mile CP.
At the finish line all of the runners were meet by one of the race directors and as a nice touch the volunteer marshalls from the earlier CP's were given the honour of handing out the gold buckles.
GB Ultras made my first 100miler an experience never to forget for all the right reasons and I would recommend them to everyone.
This will not be my last Chester 100!!

A great route with a real variety of terrain and something for every one whether you like hills and glorious views, rocky forest trails, rolling green countryside or canal or river running this has it all. Superbly supported with well stocked checkpoints and fantastic atmosphere. Well marked but easy to go astray if you're not paying attention in the dark - a grand day out!!
