The Cumbrian Challenge is Walking With The Wounded’s flagship annual fundraising event in the Lake District for teams of four.

There are two routes, the ‘Tough’ and the ‘Tougher’ over the beautiful fells of the Lake District and, as part of their team-building preparation, teams are challenged to fundraise £1,000 per team for Walking With The Wounded’s programmes.

Every team that takes part will support another wounded veteran back into work.

Please get involved and challenge your friends, family, clients and colleagues to join you at this testing but uplifting event which saw a record number of teams overcome their worries and fears to accomplish something remarkable with their team-mates.

Registration will be opened first exclusively to people who have reserved places and then, if there are places remaining, for general sale.

A truly awesome event raising money for Walking With The Wounded. Our team decided that dressing up as cowboys, with inflatable horses would add a bit of fun to the event (we slightly regretted this when the wind picked up on top of the fells). We took part in the ‘Tougher’ route, and were chuffed to bits to come in 11th. It really is an event for all abilities, and it is great fun. The sense of camaraderie is superb, and knowing that every penny raised goes to WWTW really helps get you though the steeper ascent. We will be back again…..to compete for the fancy dress 2016 title.

Fantastic event, I have never climbed a mountain and was not sure what to expect, it was amazing and it was a challenge which I thoroughly enjoyed. Very cold and windy at the top, kit list was very helpful so I was able to add layers as we got higher. All I can say is I'm glad I did it, it's a lot of money to raise, I baked loads of cakes and took them to work with the slogan "Eat cake and Donate" and raised £175.

Awesome event! You must compete in teams of 4 and you must pass every checkpoint as a team, so train together if possible. There are people of every capability so whether you are a seasoned fell runner or you struggle up the stairs you will enjoy this race. I'll certainly be back next year!
