This years event has moved home and is now set at the wonderful Allerford Recreation Ground just outside Porlock on the Exmoor coast, which is all part of the amazing Holnicote Estate part of the National Trust.

Don’t worry we haven’t moved far and we’ve kept in all the open moorland and coastal sections to make this a truly exceptional trail run in the heart of the Exmoor National Park.

A truly exceptional area for trail running, with the marathon and ultra runners cover areas around Dunkery Hill and Horner Wood, two nature reserves before joining the South West Coast Path back towards Porlock and the finish.

The 12k and half marathon runners, stay on the coastal side of the A39, where you will enjoy running through some stunning wood sections and the fantastic coastal path around Porlock and Bossington Hill.

2018 ultra distance. This was a really nice event, mostly well signed with lots of checkpoints, loads of snacks, on excellent landscape with some hardcore hillage. A great way to see some of exmoor and some exmoor coastline. Thoroughly enjoyable!

This was my first ultra and it was a cracker! Beautiful scenery, friendly runners, challenging terrain...what more could you want? Checkpoints stocked with plenty of crisps, chocolate, jellies (beans and babies) and drinks.

Only downside was the finish which heads up the same single track lane that all the cars were trying to leave down! Think this might be a result of the number of runners doubling since last year!
