First 100 solo in HK but indeed it is combined with quite a lot of boring road. Even it is one of the UTWT event, it attempted to downgrade itself to a new route in order to satisfy the new ITRA requirement for a 5-point race. Bit disappointed on it.

I personally thought to myself that I've come a long way in long distance road running. So tackling HK100 was certainly next on my bucket list. It's one of the milder trail race out there (gets cold at night) so not knowing what to expect,
I felt lucky to get a place as the balleting system was well over subscribed and limited to those outside Hong Kong.
What a race experience, the scenery was spectacular and the team of organiser put one hell of a show on at every checkpoint. It's not every day your running through the trails one minute and the next minute running along the beach before passing through the dam!
Finally the cut off points were very relaxed so if you do get a place and are not the most experienced ultra runner don't be put off my the early start and big field of professional athletes. Well worth the experience, the race will live long in the memory!
