What in the blue blazes is this about then? That is a really good question, really well put, and we are glad that you asked. Read on and you will find out the answer to that very same question here...

Just For Sh*t & Giggles is an "X" shaped route located entirely within the North Wessex Down AONB.

The route itself begins below the Alton Priors White Horse and will take you around the Vale of Pewsey, through the Pewsey Downs National Nature Reserve, up to the Avebury Stone Circle and on to the Marlborough Downs...it really  is all a bit pretty!!

So how does an "X" shaped route work is another question we hear from you now...keep reading, 'cos we are just full of answers for you...

At the heart of the "X", at the Pewsey Downs car park, SN8 4JX, will be Race HQ. The route comprises 4 out and back Legs from Race HQ. The Legs will be run in an anti clockwise order. You have the option to sign up to run 2 Legs, 3 Legs or all 4 Legs.

Leg 1.

7.35 miles each way = 14.71 miles Leg total. 1155 ft elevation.

Leg 2

9.18 miles each way = 18.36 miles Leg total and 33.07 miles combined total. 1538 ft elevation combined total.

Leg 3

9.57 miles each way = 19.14 miles Leg total and 52.24 miles combined total. 2720 ft elevation combined total.

Leg 4

10.27 miles each way = 20.54 Leg total and 72.80 miles overall total.

4044 ft elevation combined total

There will be a fully stocked Aid Station at Race HQ and at the turn around point on each of the Legs. This is a CUPLESS event. You will have to bring your own collapsible cup...if you don't then you will burn ya little fingers drinking hot drinks...and the flat coke will only make ya hands sticky.

Our in-house Medical Team will also be located at Race HQ should you need their services. The route will be fully marked with tape and signage. We will also have some super Marshals on the course letting you know that you have still got miles to go...and encouraging you to do them!!

Competitors' parking will be available near to Race HQ. Please do not park in the Pewsey Downs Car Park...we do not have permission to use it and as it is only a small car park we would very quickly fill it up and block it for members of the public.

We will set you off at 0900 hrs (9am) and cut offs for completion will be as follows:

  • 2 Legs: 9 hrs
  • 3 Legs 15 hrs
  • 4 Legs 24 hrs

Canicross entrants will set off 5 mins before non dog assisted runners.

Come and join us for some trail running in a spectacular location among fellow and new trail running friends.

Cost per person:

  • 2 Legs (33 miles) - £37
  • 3 Legs (52 miles) - £50
  • 4 Legs (72 miles) - £65

A link to the route can be found here: https://gb.mapometer.com/running/route_4977456.html

Transfers

In the event that you have entered but can no longer make the day then transferring your place to someone else is permitted and is the preferred option. To that end please contact us prior to arranging your own transfer.

However, if we have sold out the event and have a waiting list in operation then transfers will not be permitted and priority will be given to those on the waiting list. Any transfers  will not be permitted fewer than 7 days before the event.

Event Cancellation

In the unlikely event  that the race has to be cancelled, delayed, or postponed due to circumstances beyond our control, no refunds will be payable.
