Based in the Lake District, the route is a very tough but scenic, 42 miles of mountain trails and open Lakeland Fells. 'Tougher than many 50 milers...!' as someone said last year, due to the remote terrain and need for good hill-skills and basic navigation.
The event is based from Askham on the edge of the Lake District National Park and includes the summits of High Street and Helvellyn, along with the 'sting in the tail', Place Fell, which provides an amazing view point to take a few seconds to see where you've been all day.
The event starts at 6.00am and with 'Dawn to Dusk' as your onbjective you should be scrapping home before teh sun goes down, and definitely in time for 'last orders'!
NAV4 Adventure events, are tough, low-key and originated by a very experienced mountain/ultra runner. The NAV4 Adventure team are experts at what they do; our Tour de Helvellyn event is a December classic with a reputation for a good day out with awesome 'Soup?' tea, cakes and more....
Don't expect a goody bag, loud music or .ipod charging stations. Do expect a very tough day out, with like minded mountain athletes, and a very big 'tick' in your memory bank.
