Taking place on 2nd-3rd December 2017 the Montane Cheviot Goat brings you a true challenge.

This 55 mile winter ultra run will test all your abilities as both your mind and body are placed under stress in this unforgiving environment.

Supported by our event team you will traverse a loop of the largest hills in the border region. This is a time when most livestock are brought off the tops and only the hardy feral Cheviot goat is left to fend for itself.

You will be taken out into one of the last wild places in England where the population count per square mile is the lowest to be had.

High up in the fells you'll need to battle your inner self as you cross peat covered hills, descend grassy banks and chug along the mighty border ridge with Scotland on one side and England on the other!

Are you a Montane Cheviot Goat?!

Ran the inaugural event in 2017. Great experience all round! Well organised, good communication and an amazing team. The race itself is tough - difficult ground conditions (snow, slush, ice, bog) make for slow going and the single aid station means you have to be self sufficient but this is all part of the experience. There are plenty of marshals positioned along the route so you're never too far from help if needed which is very reassuring in winter conditions. It's great to have a solo ultra event in the UK at this time of year and it's sure the become a firm favourite on my race calendar. Highly recommended!
