DIFFICULTY Brutal
32.75 miles across the North Kent marshes in the dark, wind, rain, mud and often snow with an 8 hour time limit.
The course is on farm roads, farm tracks and the marshes so can get muddy in places. A few hills to liven things up.
Fully signed and marshalled 6.55 mile lap so difficult, almost impossible, to get lost and very safe. First aid and safety vehicle patrol. Water stops, hot and cold drinks, snacks throughout with hot soup and bread when you finish.
A medal and certificate to all who take part....above all it's good fun?

I do quite a few different marathons and ultras each year but Challenge Hub's events are the only ones I come back to do again and again. Mike Inkster and the team are so friendly and welcoming, it's often more like a social run than a race. Don't get me wrong, the course is tough - I've tried to finish all 5 laps of Moonlight three times now and only ever got as far as the marathon distance on the fourth lap - but it's more of a mental challenge than a physical one, and being laid out over a 10k ish loop with at least three well stocked aid stations you're pretty well looked after. There's a brilliant group of regular runners and volunteers that gets bigger every time I go - can't wait to see them all again for the 50 Mile Challenge in July. Make sure you do at least one of their races this year and experience the atmosphere for yourself!
Mike's events are always professional, friendly and for me they bring together a great bunch of runners from first time ultra runners to 'old hands'. These Challengehub event are always in my calendar
I come along and run Jelly Baby Corner for this event as my husband Mark likes to run it every year and it beats sitting at home wondering whether he has fallen in a dyke in the dark! All the runners seem to love this event - mud, snow, wind, rain, clear starlit skies we've seen it all. A great way to dip the toes into the ultra world. The new course for this year is great and I think the runners will find a whole new series of challenges!
