Coastal Trail Series - North York Moors 2017.

A truly beautiful trail run.

I’ve never ran any of the Endurance Life coastal trails before but was more than impressed. The event was really well organised from start to finish. Registration was finely tuned with various people at various points handing you your race number, your chip and your t-shirt. The trail was way-marked well enough that you didn't have to look far to know if you were following the right path but also subtle enough that there was no big banners or signs that would impact the environment or detract from the enjoyment of the rural setting. We were given a technical t-shirt at the beginning of the race along with a timing band and a clif bar. There were 3 fuelling checkpoints along the route all stocked well with cold water, bananas, decent jelly babies and crisps. Then on finishing, we were given a quality heavy medal and a massive recovery protein clif bar as well as changing tents and warm food and drink on offer.

The course was advertised as a 14.8 mile ‘half-marathon’ with a total ascent of 1902ft but I tracked it (via my Garmin Fenix 3 HR) at 15.02 miles with a total ascent of 2208ft.
