2017... It was fabulous...As usually, one of Jonel's races... start from Kayapa... with a long climb... total elevation is 5,700m so, surely, you have to be willing to climb! The first 40km make you discover the mountain's beauty... but then comes the real climb... ~2,000m climb over 10km distance... you arrive either in fire or half cooked, when reaching the plateau, a beautiful grassland to get through up to km 62, where resting make huge sense, under the admiring and supportive eyes of the local village inhabitants...Then the down and up and down and up restarts... always wondering if you will soon be arriving...I had to stop to sleep after 22 and a half jjours running... It was nothing like my race plan... I thought I would be able to rest on the way, but no, there is no time for that... It is beautiful, with magnificent nature, rivers and hanging bridges... night at start, day with sun and rain, then night again... and for me, day again to get back to start, as there is no hope of vehicles along the way... by hook or by crook you have to run or walk it back...Again, an adventure like no other! Loved it! Loved it! Loved it!I did a couple of weeks earlier a 84k hilly road ultra in 11h... to give you a perspective... and on this Pulag 100, my average speed was just above 4.5km/h... faint hearted stay away... Ha ha
