Event Details

Originally due to take place in 2020 but postponed due to the pandemic lock-down, we are thrilled to confirm that ROC24 [Suffolk 2021] will instead be taking place at Ipswich High School,  Woolverstone Hall, on the revised dates of 26/27 June 2021.

Woolverstone Hall is a beautiful Grade I listed building set in 80 acres of parkland located on the banks of the River Orwell, Suffolk, only 10 minutes drive from Ipswich town centre and within easy access of the A12 and A14.

A single-loop 5k course will cover as much of the stunning parkland as possible, as it sweeps through lawns and wooded areas with a stunning river vista backdrop. A course map will be available to download here from April.

Participating

Participants aged 18+ on 26th June 2021 can enter as solo's, pairs or in teams of up to eight relay members (male / female / mixed). Team details can be confirmed closer to the event and you can also enter as a ‘Team Nomad’ member if you want us to help you find-a-team!

Participants are permitted to run, jog or walk and can decide how many laps they will complete. For example, in a team of two or more, one team member could complete a single 5k lap in 24 hours, while the remaining teammates complete multiple laps (continuously or spread out across the 24 hour period). The one restriction is that only one member of a team is allowed on the course at any one time.

All solo's and team members are required to complete a minimum of one recorded lap to be considered eligible for a result and to receive a race medal.

The race will start and participants will be timed from 12 noon on Saturday (through to 12 noon on Sunday).

Podium trophies (1st, 2nd and 3rd) will be awarded for the most distance completed in each category (solo, pairs & teams of 3-8).

This will be a family friendly event with children's play area and a Race Village with hot and cold food and drink available, while clubs and teams are encouraged to erect gazebos beside the course to support all participants.

In addition, massage services will be provided by Gilmour Piper physiotherapy practice and Bridget Read Soft Tissue Therapy, with donations to our partner Charity St Elizabeth Hospice.

There will be lots of entertainment throughout the weekend, with DJ sets + live music, including a special ‘Elvis Singathon’ gig with ‘Harry Isaac Presley’ and his HIP band.

Indoor shower, toilet and changing facilities will be available on-site throughout.

Water stations will be set-up along the course for refilling of receptacles.

Event organisers Run Or Cycle Events are committed to making ROC24 a safe and enjoyable experience. First Aid services are on-site throughout the event, and the course will be well marshaled.
