Race Across Apulia is a 285km ultramarathon held in Italy in the Apulian region.
It starts in Lecce and finishes in Castellaneta crossing the most beautiful cities and landscapes of the region. From Lecce the baroccan capital of Italy to Ostuni, the white city, going into the trulli region crossing Alberobello one of the most famous cities thanks to its trulli and Unesco heritage as well.
The short version of the races finishes in Alberobello (105km long). The race continues along the Adriatic coast entering Bari, the capital of Apulia and continues through the National Park of Alta Murgia and enters into Altamura, famous for its bread.
Before finishing in Castellaneta, hometown of Rodolfo Valentino, the runners will have the chance to run in Matera, another Unesco site thanks to its worldwide known "Sassi", the old part of Matera, a place full of history and tradition.
48 hours to complete the 285km (20 hours for the short race) all on secondary roads most of them only cycling and walking ones.
