Rovaniemi150 was born in 2012. The first winter ultramarathon in Europe that combines three categories starting at the same time: ski, foot and fat-bike.
In 2015 the organizer Polarguide and Logistics added two more races: Rovaniemi66 and Rovaniemi300.
All Rovaniemi Arctic Winter Races go through the forest in the Arctic Circle, around Finnish Lapland's main city: Rovaniemi.
These races have in common that they are self-sufficient and participants have to carry, apart from mandatory gear, all the equipment they think they will need to finish it in a safety way.
Rovaniemi66 is a 66 kilometers ultramarathon. Maximum time to complete it: 18 hours. Three categories: foot, fat-bike and ski.
Rovaniemi66 also intends to be the initiation to winter races. To participate it is not necessary to have experience in other winter races but we recommend to people who participate experience in marathons or winter mountain traverses.
We understand that anybody who intends to participate in this kind of race without previous winter experience must have the common sense to get good information about all the needs to face a competition like this one.
At the checkpoints, except in Sinettäjärvi checkpoint, racers will find a camp fire and basic shelter. Only in two of them will they find water.
Rovaniemi66 is limited to 50 participants.
