August 2018 50k event - I enjoyed the race; organisation and marshalling were good. The route was nice - it was pretty damp this year, but I can imagine it would be stunning in the sunshine! :) Some checkpoints were well stocked - particularly the one around 21k in where there was loads of lovely fresh fruit - but some were a little disappointing (although I may have been spoilt by LDWA events!). Next time, I will carry some emergency snacks just in case. I would still recommend the race - well sign-posted and lots of friendly faces throughout.

This was my first trail race (33k) and it was a blast! The organisation of the event is spot on and the course is well marked. I especially liked that many of the checkpoints were set up by locals, which baked luscious brownies and other cakes.
The terrain is mainly flat with the occasional hill, but definitely not a mountain race. This is perfect for beginner trail runners in my opinion.

The course is beautiful - the last 3 km run through the heart of Salisbury, passing by its magnificent cathedral (which I recommend visiting!)

I would totally recommend this race!

August 2017 - First trail marathon for me and my third marathon. Excellent organisation and stunning & varied scenery. Recommended.
My time reflected both the 'advanced' classification with some good uphill sections and a massive lack of training.

This was my second time at the salisbury 54321, last year I completed the 42k distance which was a similarly enjoyable experience. This year was a great challenge for my first 50k, the course was very well marked, not once did I think I may be off route. The support around the course was excellent with aid stations evenly spaced out with water, fruit, cake and various other treats supplied at various points around the course.
The terrain is varied, paths, road, single track, fields with a good amount of elevation for those who enjoy that !
All in all a nice day that was well organised from start to finish. Recommended

August 13th 2017 Salisbury 54321 50k
The Salisbury 54321 is a multi-distance off road trail event that loops Salisbury through some beautiful scenery. The parking was right next to the start and registration with ample spaces available. Registration was fast and friendly. There were mobile toilets on site however there was quite a queue but support staff helped by directing competitors to alternative loos. The pre start talk included the usual safety information. We started on time. The mixed terrain was evident early on as we were lead through the town foot paths, trails, and a fields in the first kilometre. The first water station was at about 2k which I imagine was designed for walker. There were so many water and aid stations that if I were to run it again I wouldn’t take a bladder. The marshalling was first class with marshals at most crossings helping with traffic direction as well as at random positions around the course. We were supplied with a map of the course however it was so well marked I doubt anyone would have needed it. I never took a wrong turn (which is unusual for me). A very small criticism was that the distance markers were for various races and therefore it could be hard to know your distance if you didn’t have gps. The terrain: very scenic, some hills, a few roads, trails, fields, foot paths and some wonderful country estate roads. What I liked most was the mix of terrain was constant so it was interesting to run and felt less of a slog than some of the races I have done. Although I was very tiered at the end the finish through the town was well supported which helped lift the spirits through to the finish line that had a great atmosphere. Positives: Terrain was varied and scenic, the water/aid stations were plentiful, the marshals were first class, the support was good, registration was fast and friendly, your results were sent to you quickly.
I really recommend this event for first timers as well as season runners.
