Trail Monte Casto has its start and finish in Andorno Micca, a village in Valle Cervo, in northern Piedmont. First run in 2005, it is one of the oldest trails in Italy and its pasta and beer post-race party is famous.
A popular event, each year the competition welcomes many international top athletes. This means that entries always close early and there is a maximum of 800 athletes accepted.
The route develops in Valle Cervo and in the wild Val Sessera with its beautiful mountain pastures and the truly spectacular Artignaga.
Two distances are planned:
46 km 200 m D +
21 km 900 m D +
The terrain is not too technical and includes small dirt roads and forest and pasture trails.
The event also includes and offers: online registration, checkpoints, 5 hydration and feed stations for the 46 km distance, qualified medical support, after race showers and a celebration pasta party after the race.
