TRAILHEAD GET JERKY DEVIL'S STAIRCASE ULTRA TRAIL RACE

The inaugural running of this challenge event will take place on April 4. 2020. The race distance will be 50 km (31 miles) and the total ascent and descent is 5,714ft (1741m). Most of the race will be off road with some short road sections including the hellish steep ascent (25%) of the iconic Devil's staircase. The race will test endurance and stamina but will reward the runner with a fantastic and lasting memorable experience.

The race will start and finish in the centre of Llanwrtyd and the route will also include:

  • the old Drovers road that runs to the ford at Abergwesyn
  • the beautiful and stunning Abergwesyn valley
  • Soar y Mynydd the most isolated chapel in Wales
  • the head of the spectacular dam at Llyn Brianne
  • the 11th century St David's Church

The course will be marshalled and waymarked with water points and two feed stations providing cold and hot drinks, bananas, cakes and sweets. At the finish there will be Welsh cawl and a vegetarian alternative on offer. Each runner will receive a unique devil medal and there will be prizes for the first three male and female runners. A technical T Shirt is included in the entry.

Could you be the first to outrun the Devil?
