IV Edition Douro-Paiva Ultra Trail 2017

The UTDP is an integral proof of the circuit Skyrunning of Portugal, promoted by the Federation Camping and Mountain of Portugal, and that will count towards the National Championship and Cup of Portugal. However, we will not fail to be part of the qualifying races for the qualification of the athletes who want to participate in the mythical UTMB (Ultra Trail Mont Blanc).

This circuit starts and ends in the center of the village of Cinfães (the Douro), that is, it is circular. From here the UTDP takes direction to the Serra de Montemuro, where we can find a breathtaking landscape on our neighboring hills, Freita mountain range, Marão mountain range and the Estrela mountain range.

This year, one of the great surprises is in the rails of 65 km and 38 km, because we had the ambition to provide athletes with more natural rails and shade, since it is a height of intense heat. In these new areas, athletes will be able to find breathtaking landscapes on ponds that look like "another world", and where they can have the advantage of cooling off ... it's a wonder!

But, not leaving aside the athletes that will participate in the distance of the 18 km, these along with the athletes of the other distances, will find a new and fascinating course from Covelas to the Pesliqueir. This means that anyone who has participated in previous editions will find that they will no longer find the tar road that connects the village of Covelas to Pelisqueira, where they started the rails inside Bestança. Convincing, the Bestança rails will start from Soutelo! It will certainly be a revolutionary adrenaline, for which we are already accustomed in the Valley of Bestança! More than 15 kms of pure rails!

The Ultra Runners, as we have been advised on the choice of routes in the more arid region of the Mountain, this year, finally we will insert in the circuit, a new village, the village of Nespereira! Due to this change, athletes will be able to find more shade, rivers, more singles track and above all a people who will certainly be anxious to receive you.

This edition, probably we can consider that we made a small turnaround of the routes!

We hope you enjoy it, but above all have fun!

Until July!
