CONCEPT
The Ultra NORWAY Race is a foot race non-stop of 140 km, with 9,000 meters of positive elevation and competitor is in semi Self-Supported. The adventure takes place in Norway on the Lyngen Alps, on the west side of the city of Tromso. Participants must follow the route as marked by the organizers. There are check points located at regular intervals. Refreshments are offered at several check points. Each competitor must carry a backpack containing the compulsory equipments, food and personal equipments. The time limit to cover the entire distance is 48 hours. To be authorised to continue the event, runners must set off again from the control post before the fixed time limit. A technical support and a medical team are present during the event.
ITINERARY
The Ultra NORWAY Race takes place in the north of Norway, 350 km north of the Arctic Circle. The start will be in the Lyngen Alps, an attractive place in northern Norway and the finish line will be on the waterfront of Tromsø, the city of adventurers.
The itinerary will be an opportunity for participants to discover the magical and surprising landscapes of the Lyngen Alps. They will cross the landscapes of mountains and high mountains associated with the ubiquitous blue fjords. On the last kilometers, the competitors will see the Arctic Cathedral and they will cross the iconic Tromsø Bridge with stunning views over the city.
In July, we will benefit of the midnight sun and we will see the beautiful scenery of northern Norway in a dazzling Arctic brightness.
