Ultra Marathon Sovev Emek is an event taking palce at Kibbutz Hazorea in the picturesque Jezreel Valley in Northern Israel. The event includes a number of different distances thus also allowing beginners to get their first taste of ultra running while promoting the love of nature and environmental conservation.
The organizers are all volunteers and members of Kibbutz Hazorea.
The event has made a name for itself as one of the best run and organized ultra events anywhere and participants can expect a high level of support. The participants are a mixture of experienced atheletes and first-timers.The different distances allow a wide range of choices for all.
The event is limited to 2000 participants and is usually sold out month before the date. Overseas participants are welcome and over the years the number of overseas participants gradually increased.
Our goal
Our goal is to perpetuate this as an annual local tradition for the community of Kibbutz Hazorea as well as the local councol of Meggiddo, introducing participants to the the Menashe hills biosphere, and the beautiful local countyside. We would like to promote sports and especially running and ultra running among the local communities as well as among atheletes from all over Israel.
Ultra Sovev Emek emphasizes the passing on of the importance of engaging in sports to the next generation, and therefore children over the age of ten can take part in some of the events.There is also a 2km run for local elementary school children.
