ALVI TRAIL LIGURIA 3rd Edition, is a wonderful journey along the paths of the Alta Via dei Monti Liguri and is an ultra trail race made of 8 stages with start in Dolceacqua (Italy, Liguria, Imperia) and finish in Porto Venere (Italy, Liguria, La Spezia), from June 15th to June 22nd, 2019.

Liguria is one of the most beautiful regions in Italy, situated in the North West coast between the south of France and Tuscany.

In 8 days the trail runners will cover a distance of 400km (Alvi ULTRA) and 200km (Alvi ADVENTURE) crossing landscapes, villages and 7 regional parks always different and very amazing.

Other two races have been added:

  • Alvi ALPS 60k (Stage 1, from Dolceacqua to Mendatica) crossing the Alpi Liguri Natural Regional Park
  • Alvi SEA 50k (Stage 8, from Castiglione Chiavarese to Porto Venere) along the Alta Via 5 Terre, crossing the 5 Terre Natural Regional Park and a wonderful sea view.

Each stage includes base camps where the athlets and the staff can have dinner and can sleep before the start of the next day.

Three are the main characteristics of this ultra trail:

  • Legendary, hard and tactical, with a continuous alternation of easy mountain roads and technical tracks, never exposed or unsafe.
  • Discovery of the charming inland, the Entroterra Ligure, its nature, its culture, its handicraft and its local food and wines.
  • Conviviality of moments spent together enjoying the local cuisine based dinners and the great friendship which grows stronger from stage to stage.
