A lovely day out, weather certainly helped. A first look at the local French Ultra scene and it is good. 25 Euros no medal no shirt just support, food and points for OCS. Really relaxed scene. Helps if you have a French athletic association medical signature on the membership card as they are hard over, no medical fit to race - no entry. Easy to get, you don't need to be in France and costs 30 Euros (plus gives rescue costs from races in the mountains) really reommended if you fancy the UMTB,CCC etc series (details on their website). The ground is really good with a few muddy sections though in my case the weather was dry. The views are stunning reminded me of the black forest in Germany forest covered hills with farming in the valley and hardly any traffic on teh short road sections. Do it you won't be disappointed.
