Mt Snowdon Ultra 50 & 100
Ultra Great Britain's inaugural Mt Snowdon Ultras start on Saturday. Runners competing in the 50 miler will have 24 hours, and those running the 100 miler will have 48 hours. Those cut-offs speak for themselves - these are tough routes with killer climbs. The 50 has 17919 feet of ascent, and the 100 has 29199 feet. Unless you are a mountain goat, there is going to be a lot of uphill walking. However, runners can be sure of great support and checkpoints from the Ultra Great Britain team, and some spectacular views.

The races start in Betws-y-Coed, and Mt Snowdon is one of many mountains entrants will summit. Others include Glyder Fawr, Y Garn and Pen yr Ole Wen. The races are part of the UGB 50 and 100 mile Grand Slams and look to be a great addition to the ultra calendar. Good luck if you are taking part. It would be great to get some reviews of the inaugural races.

RE:Mt Snowdon Ultra 50 & 100
Full results are not yet available, but these races look to have been both phenomenal and brutal. They have had a high DNF rate, but also some outstanding performances. The completion rate for the 100 miler is reported to be just 20%.

Rob Mills won the 50 mile event in 12 hours 28 minutes, and Martin Wilson won the 100 miler in 32 hours 59 minutes. Those times show how tough the races are - these are great runners, but the routes are beyond challenging.

Second in the 50 miler was Matty Brennan in 13:17. Robin Smith was second in the 100 miler, and Craig Clements and Ben Shirley were joint third. Craig is also the first GB Ultras 100 Mile Grandslammer.

These were the top 3 women in the 50 miler:

1. Rebecca Morgan - 15:54
2. Amanda Seims - 16:07
3. Ashleigh Bennett - 17:50

We will update you on the full results when they are available. Well done to everyone who took part - such tough events, especially in bad weather.

RE:Mt Snowdon Ultra 50 & 100
The results of the 100 miler have been confirmed. Of the 65 starters, 12 (18.4%) finished the race, 15 (23.1%) dropped down to the 50 miler, and the remaining 38 did not finish. This shows what a tough race it was. There were no female finishers this year - a challenge for next year's female entrants to put this to rights. These were the podium finishers:

1. Martin Wilson - 32:59
2. Robin Smith - 37:53
3= Craig Clements - 39:59
3= Ben Shirley - 39:59
