Saltmarsh 75 2018
Saltmarsh 75 takes runners along the entire Saltmarsh coast. On Saturday, they set off from South Woodham Ferrers, Essex. After 38 miles, they will stay overnight in Steeple before completing a further 36 miles on Sunday to reach their final destination of Salcott-*****-Virley.

The route includes clifftops, shingle beaches, coastal villages and mudflats. It is largely flat, but this can be deceptive - parts of the route, such as the Dengie Peninsula, are remote and exposed to whatever weather conditions prevail. The route is steeped in history - it includes the site of the Battle of Maldon and the oldest Christian chapel in England (St. Peter's). The route is also an ornithologist's dream - thousands of birds migrate to the mudflats for the winter.

This race is popular with both new and experienced ultra runners. Good luck if you are taking part, and we would love to read your review of the event afterwards.

RE:Saltmarsh 75 2018
This year's event was certainly a race of two halves. Saturday saw runners drenched and finishing well into the night, whilst Sunday's cool but clear skies led to record-breaking day 2 times. Well done to everyone who took part. These were the podium finishers and their overall times:

1. Tim Ballard - 11:09:52
2. Harry Smith - 11:31:20
3. Damian Barrett - 11:52:07

1. Sarah Evershed - 14:12:06
2. Claire Splarn - 15:40:04
3. Jayne Rudolph - 16:29:43
