Winter Cross Ultra 2018
If you're looking for a way to motivate yourself to keep active during that period between Christmas and New Year, then this could be the event for you. On 27th December, around 150 runners will be running 45 miles (72km) in the shape of a cross (there is also a 50km option).

The race consists of four out and back legs and plenty of variety. They are run in this order:

North - 9km of flattish running on an old railway line.

East - 21km with a couple of big climbs. This is mostly footpaths and includes part of the South Downs Way. If it's a clear day, then you will be able to see across the Solent to the Isle of Wight on the return leg.

West - 21km - a mixture of villages and trails.

South - 21km of an old railway line on the Meon Trail.

The challenge is to set off at dawn (7:30am) and finish before dusk (4:30pm). The route is all runnable and not likely to be muddy. However, the chalk on the South Downs Way can be slippery if wet or frozen.

This sounds like a perfect festive event. We currently have no runner reviews, so if you have run the race in the past or are running this year, we would appreciate your feedback: https://www.runultra.co.uk/Events/Winter-Cross-Ultra#reviewSection

Good luck everyone!
