Hardmoors 30 2019
Not everyone will be toasting the New Year when the clocks strike midnight. The Hardmoors 30 entrants will hopefully be tucked up in bed ready to welcome in 2019 by running 30 miles on the Cinder Path and Cleveland Way on January 1st. They have up to 9 hours to complete the race, and then there will be double cause for celebration before the first day of the year is done.

Hardmoors 30 is a circular route that starts in Robin Hood's Bay and follows old railway lines to Whitby. Runners then follow the Cleveland Way back to Robin Hood's Bay before picking up the railway lines again en route to Hayburn Wyke. From there, they rejoin the Cleveland Way to return to Robin Hood's Bay.

The route is a mixture of runnable trails and muddy, hilly coastal paths. The event has 6 reviews on our listings page, with all runners awarding it 4 or 5 stars. It is a beautiful part of the country and looks the perfect start to the year. Good luck to everyone running.

RE:Hardmoors 30 2019
It was a bright and sunny New Year's Day morning for yesterday's runners, offering the possibility of PBs for race regulars. There was a tough headwind later in the race and some light rain, but overall, conditions were good for the time of year with much less mud than usual.

These were the podium finishers. Well done to all:

MEN
1. Philip Jones - 4:04:30
2. Mark Kearney - 4:09:27
3. Jerome McCulla - 4:12:40

WOMEN
1. Hannah McMahon - 4:58:46
2. Bridget Houlston - 5:05:59
3. Alison Hyde - 5:30:50
