Is anyone else going? If so, I'd be interested to see what tactics you are using as I can't decide between a negative split and just trying to run 'eyeballs-out' all the way :) Wings for Life Cambridge

Hi Phil, just shared your request on our Twitter page.

If you haven't seen it already, we just published our recent interview with Colin Jackson, who's the International Sports Director for Wings for Life.

RE:Wings for Life Cambridge 7 May 2017
Morning Phil

I am attending this and I am hoping to keep a fast solid pace for the race, not quite the "eyeballs approach" you suggest but a half way between that and neg split

Neg splits will be hard for me as I would like to get a PB pace along the way so I won't know where the half way point will be until the end!

I used this page (which is hard to find) to figure out what I can achieve:

Hope another view helps

John

Thanks John, the calculator is very useful but like you say, it's when you hear the car approaching that the negative split factor comes into play. It's going to be really odd trying to maintain a fast pace knowing that you'll need to do a man-sprint for as long as possible before being overtaken :)

Probably (read: most certainly!) the completely wrong way of going out for it - but I am all in for going as fast as I can from the start, by the time I see the car I will probably be out of gas and very happy to see it!

Really looking forward to an exciting race format

Best of luck tomorrow, let me know how that sprint goes for you!
