Sandstone Way Ultra
The Sandstone Way was new onto the scene in 2015 to take advantage of a brand new trail from the top to bottom of Northumberland that was designed for mountain biking and anticipated to take cyclists 2-4 days to complete. On Saturday, 100 runners will aim to complete it within 38.5 hours. The full route, from Berwick-upon-Tweed to Hexham is 120 miles with 11725 feet of ascent. There are also options to enter the 70 mile Sandstone Way North or the 50 mile Sandstone Way South.

The current course records were set last year by Neil MacNicol (23:20:35) and Patricia van Rooyen (31:20:20). Good luck to everyone running this year and it would be great to get some reviews of the race from our members.

RE:Sandstone Way Ultra
Well done to everyone who ran. The results show just how tough this race was - 34 runners made the start line, 15 crossed the finish line and there were 19 DNFs. Only one woman finished the race - a huge well done to Georgina Hinton-Lewis for her time of 35:42:54. These were the top 3 men:

1. Jim Mann - 24:03:05
2. Paul Foster - 26:48:52
3. Andy Robertston - 27:10:57

If you ran the race, it would be great to hear what you thought and any comments you have on the DNF rate. You can leave a review of the race here: https://www.runultra.co.uk/Events/Sandstone-Way-Ultra-(2)#reviewSection
Thank you
