The Ultra Great Britain is a stonker: 200 miles following the Trans-Pennine Trail from Southport to Hornsea (England, UK) in one go with a 100 hour cut off point. The bravehearts for this year’s edition set off on the 19th August at 6 am from the Trans-Pennine Trail Monument in Southport to tackle the mix of trail through wild and urban landscapes.

The men’s race was a nail-biter with an extraordinary ending. Neil Rutherford and Spencer Bunn neck and necked it the whole way round – and remember we are talking about 200 miles here! – and then crossed the finish line together in 47:06:36/46. A joint win!

First lady and third place overall was the extraordinary Rosie Bell with 52:36:03. Phenomenal work and demonstrating again the growing strength of women in the sport.  The battle for third and fourth lady was a royal one – mirroring the men with Sadie Besley and Elaine Jones getting joint third.
