Wardian breaks world marathon challenge record

Michael Wardian has broken the world marathon challenge record after completing seven marathons in seven days across seven continents.

He broke the three-hour mark in all seven of the marathons and came in at an average of 2:45 beating the previous record by a massive margin of 47 minutes - it was an average of 3:32.

Thirty competitors started the challenge which began in Antarctica and then continued through Punta Arenas (Chile), Miami, Madrid, Morocco, Dubai with the final race in Sydney, Australia.

Michael’s fastest marathon was in Miami at 2:37:56.

He posted his victory picture on his Instagram page @mikewardian with this message:

I am sorry for the delay, yesterday was a surreal dream come true and was spent sharing the experience with the world. So thankful for you all being out there supporting me #relentless #thankful
