The three distances of the Alpine Challenge 2016 (100 miles, 100km and 60km) that takes place in the Alpine National Park (Victoria) have been selected as qualifying events for the UTMB in France. Points awarded are, respectively, 6, 5 and 3 new points (4, 3 and 1 old points).

The 2016 64km Razorback Run has been awarded 4 new points (2 old points). And the Mt Buller Running Festival 2016 (45km) held in Melbourne has been awarded 3 new points (1 old point).

UTMB 2016/17 enrolment requires 15 new points (9 old points) from only three races.

The Alpine Challenge 100 Mile Individual has also been selected to be a qualifying event for the Hardrock Endurance Run 100 mile in Colorado (USA).
