The multi-day, multi-event,  80-team adventure, the Camí de Cavalls Epic 360º concluded last Sunday on the Spanish island of Menorca. Teams in three different categories raced the trails of the island’s coastline traversing great landscapes and a UNESCO biosphere reserve.

This year the heat was alleviated by the stormy skies and the occasional downpour. The route includes the island’s coves and beaches and other gems like the wetlands of the S’Albufera des Grau Natural Park, a dune system, forests and farmlands, and for the first time this year, a section within the walls of the Maó fort, on the most easterly point of Menorca.

New for the 2017 edition will be the option of running the island non-stop and a significant change of date, from September to March.

The ultra running category, Epic 360º, was dominated by the German duo Julia Böttger and Tomm Claude Zechmeisster (Team La Sportiva). They concluded the 150km tour of the island in 16:26:54 hours. The shorter Experience option (30km) was won by locals Kiko Sintes and Jordi Riutort (Aplacados Menorca).

This event also includes a combo category where participants are on foot for two stages and on mountain bikes for one. The Dualtrail Epic category victory went to Marc Coll and Lluís Borràs (Team CEM El Papiol) from Spain and the Experience race was won by Eneko Hernández and Iván San Miguel (Kimua Taldea), also from Spain.
