Graglia becomes first Italian to win Badwater 135 Ultramarathon

Michele Graglia has taken the coveted first place at this year’s Badwater 135 Ultramarathon with a finishing time of 24:51:47. He is the first Italian ever to take the title and there was some pretty fine rejoicing from the Italian community.

One of the most difficult ultra races in the world, it is set over 135 miles (217km) from Death Valley to Mt. Whitney, California, USA.

It is a one stage race, with the start at night. The organisers say, “Badwater® 135 is the most demanding and extreme running race offered anywhere on the planet.”

MdS Champion to take on Badwater

Mohamad Ahansal (Morocco), who has won the toughest footrace on earth, the Marathon Des Sables, five times and come in second ten times, is taking on the infamous Badwater, July 18 -20th. His latest win was the Silk Road Ultra Marathon in Iran earlier this year.
