Rab Flashpoint Jacket review

Ultra-lightweight waterproof shells are definitely at the sexier end of running products. Why is this? Well, it’s kinda strange really, as it is something you don’t necessarily wear that often. But with a large portion of our running taking place on remote trails, within the turmoil of inclement weather systems, it often pays to be prepared.

Adidas Terrex Agravic 3L Jacket and Adidas Terrex Agravic Wind Jacket review

In this review, I test out two lightweight running/mountain sports jackets from Adidas ready for the rains and winds of mountain running in the Summer in Europe and America, and Winter running in Australia and NZ. Both jackets were tried out over the hills in the winds and rain of a Scottish “spring”.

Lightweight insulated jackets review

Ronhill Women’s Trail Quantum Jacket review

This jacket is ultra lightweight and packable. You can easily stuff it into a pocket and take it with you as an emergency warmth layer/windstopper and rain repeller. I tried it out in light rain where it held out very well and then I used a hosepipe to see how it would make out in heavy weather.

Ronhill Women’s Trail Vertex Jacket review

This is a lightweight jacket, to be used for wind resistance and to offer protection from the winds. I tried it out in mountain conditions. The weather was sunny but with high, keen winds on the ridge, so I got the chance to use the jacket going from warm to cold.

Odlo Whirl windproof running jacket review

The running jacket is described as a “highly practical and highly effective super lightweight windproof jacket”. It also has the advantage of being “quickly and easily packed up into its own sleeve and carried via an elastic strap at the waist or chest”.
