OMM Kamleika jacket review

Last updated: 30-Dec-19

By Alice Morrison

The OMM Kamleika is a mountain shell with excellent four way stretch so that it moves with you on the trails. It comes in both men’s and women’s specific and is a waterproof and a windproof that packs up really small.

There is a high level of design on the jacket  and a wealth of features.

  • 4 Way stretch
  • Waterproof & breathable
  • Soft and quiet face fabric
  • Full length YKK® Aquaguard zip
  • Fully adjustable peaked hood
  • Reflective detail (sleeve, back)
  • Active Cuff
  • Dynamic Droptail
  • Two extra large hand/map pockets
  • Zip garage on all zips
  • Weight 225g
  • RRP £180

Let’s have a look at the jacket and its features and I’ll also let you know how it performed on the trails.

The great things about this jacket are its ability to move with you, its excellent features and attention to detail, its weight and its breathability.

Was I wet after 30+ minutes of heavy rain? I was damp, partly from sweat and partly because very little could withstand the drenching I got. Crucially, I was still warm.

This is a good jacket for a  day out in the mountains.

Not thrilled at all. Condensation builds up inside during run and can't escape, the hood flaps about and cant be fixed. The zipper when done up rubs around chin.

Much prefer my older Montane Minimus.

Bought my new OMM Jacket as my old Ron Hill Vision, which I'd used for 3 years had started to fail.
Bit pricey at £160 & was torn between the omm & a montane minimus.
Well... I made the right choice.
Hardmoors55(50) the jacket was put through 70mph winds, driving rain & sleet for 30 miles, with no where to hide on the tops & across the moors.apart from a little damp area near my stomach, it kept all that the North Yorkshire weather could throw at it. I saw many other runners getting changed & feeling the effects, I was totally snug & felt this jacket was built forvtgses conditions.
If your running the falls & mountains of Britain I would pay to have the price of mind this jacket gives. Ohhh, & the pockets are huge, held my phone, map, charger, glasses, 10 babybels & chai bars with still more room.
