Rab Microlight Summit Jacket Review

When you need a really warm, light layer to put on after a run, or during if you are in extremely cold conditions, nothing beats a down jacket. They represent instant warmth and can make all the difference to your overall state when you need to keep your core temperature up.

I tested out the Rab Microlight Summit Jacket during the Everest Trail Race, (ETR) a 6 stage ultra around Everest where it got pretty nippy.

Rab jackets dominated the post-race wear at ETR and here is how I found that the Microlight performed.

Conclusion

It’s a great jacket. It kept me warm, stuffed down reasonably small and repelled moisture from the surface.

Of course, I would have loved it to have been even lighter but I am willing to sacrifice some weight for warmth. I liked the long fit and the tailored back and the hood was snug without being claustrophobic.

At this price it is an investment rather than a quick buy, but if you need warmth and like quality then it is a jacket to consider.
