Craft women’s spring summer running kit review

Last updated: 16-Aug-18

By Alice Morrison

It’s an all-you-can-eat buffet of women’s running kit for this test out. Pieces from Craft’s spring/summer collection for women: Eaze Jersey Hood Jacket, Eaze Melange T, Eaze Tights, and Cool Intensity Singlet.

Perfect for those of you coming into Spring and dreaming of those warm Summer days and for me, based in the hot sunshine of Morocco. One thing to mention overall about Craft is their competitive pricing.

Eaze Jersey Hood Jacket

  • Soft jersey hood jacket
  • Full zipper (reversed)
  • Thumb grips
  • Chest pocket.
  • 100% Polyester
  • RRP £45

PROS: What’s good about the Eaze Jersey Hood Jacket

This fleece jacket looked great straight out of the packet. I have the grey version with black touches on the seams, zips and inside the hood. It is lovely and soft to the touch and the fit is exactly to size. I am a size 14 and so chose a Large.

It covers the body well, not hugely long and sits just above your hip bones with a slight dip at the back. The arms are a good length and cover my hands nicely, when I stick my thumbs through the thumb loops.

The pocket on the chest is big enough to put my iPhone in, and the zip is flat which I like.

There’s plenty of give in the cut, so that when you are running it moves with you and the full length zip means you can undo it easily when you get hot and also take it off while you are still moving and stuff it in your pack.

CONS: What’s not so good about the Eaze Jersey Hood Jacket

If you are looking for a jacket with lots of features, this is not for you. It is not hugely technical, doesn’t have zoned areas and is simple. Like all fleece-type jackets, some of the softness goes when you wash it repeatedly.

This is a good, basic soft jacket for cooler mornings. It looks really great and is one that you can definitely wear outside of running.

Eaze Melange T

  • Soft, lightweight tee
  • Good moisture transport and
  • Regular fit.
  • 100% Polyester
  • RRP £20

PROS: What’s good about the Eaze Melange T

What is great about this T is that it is really pretty and good value. I have the green and it is a lovely shade. There is a cut out at the back and the basic fit is loose. It is very, very lightweight.

I wore it in high temperatures and it definitely kept me nice and cool because the material is so light and the cut is free.

CONS: What’s not so good about the Eaze Melange T

Its lightness is a bit of a double edged sword, though, and I found that I sweated right through it and it became a bit too clingy round the chest area for me to be comfortable running in Morocco – this may not be a problem in other places.

I like the look of the T a lot and it is very cool but I actually preferred wearing it over the Cool Intensity Singlet. I found that the two together were a good combination.

Eaze Tights

  • Ergonomic shape
  • Great moisture transport
  • Key pocket.
  • Fabric 1: 88% Polyester 12% Elastane
  • Fabric 2: 100% Polyester
  • RRP £34

PROS: What’s good about the Eaze Tights

They are very light, and excellent in the heat and the sun. There is plenty of stretch to them and I really like the design. They have a drawstring waist which is a plus and a small pocket for keys. They are streamlined and simple and they are a good price

CONS: What’s not so good about the Eaze Tights

The pro of them being light and excellent in the heat is also somewhat of a negative. They are a bit see through and definitely not for going commando in. I also found them to be short in the body. They were medium rise and I prefer more coverage.

Cool Intensity Singlet

  • Very light and cool
  • Mesh inserts and excellent moisture transport.
  • Seamless
  • Cool Max Air Mesh Panels in sweat zones
  • RRP £38

PROS: What’s good about the Cool Intensity Singlet

This is actually down as underwear on the site although I think you could wear it on its own on the hottest of days. It is light as a feather and slim but true fit. The cut is good and I liked the criss-cross mesh fabric.

It’s super cool and I really mean super cool.

CONS: What’s not so good about the Cool Intensity Singlet

I have only been able to wash it a couple of times and it has been fine but I worry that because it is SO superfine it may wear quickly – but that is only a supposition.

A really, really cool and cooling vest. I found it worked both on its own and with the T over it. Good value for money and a useful base layer.
