Adidas Chill tights and Asics knee tights review

From late Spring onwards, it is time to break out the three-quarter-length or knee-length running tights and free those legs and ankles to the sun and wind. I like a shorter length because they give you all the support you need while keeping you that bit cooler, also you can get a pair of calf sleeves on underneath quite comfortably.

These tights feel very soft and luxurious when you put them on but are still supportive and have washed very well. I like the shorter length, they cut in just below the knee but don’t ride up due to the stretchy panel at the back. I do feel cool when wearing them – and feel that the climachill fabric does work.

The groin-to-waist is good and deep and there is a drawstring. This suits me very well as I have a tummy so am not a big fan of the low slung tight – it always ends up too low slung for my (or anyone else’s) enjoyment. The waistband at the back is double thickness which I found comfortable. These tights don’t budge once you have them on, so there is no uncomfortable hitching.

One negative is that the back pocket is really small. It wouldn’t fit my phone in and as I like to take photos on my runs, that was a minus. They are also a bit light on reflectors – even summer nights draw in and I like to be visible.

These are not the cheapest tights on the market at over £60 but you can really feel the quality.

PROS: Luxurious material; they stay in place perfectly when on; good waist and back coverage.

CONS: Could do with a bigger pocket and a bit more reflective covering.

CONCLUSION

These are a very nice pair of tights and have become a staple with me. I love the quality of the material and feel supported but free when running.

  • RRP: £28

The Asics are a good pair of no-frills, no-nonsense running tights. The material is thinner but gives adequate coverage – although these are definitely not ones to go commando with. They sit right on the knee and don’t ride up.

The waist has a drawstring and this works well and there is a good length between groin and waist so they stay in place well.

There is good reflective detailing down the sides and a spacious back pocket.

These tights are comfortable to wear and feel cool and light when they are on.

PROS: Fantastic value; good, serviceable tights.

CONS: The material is a bit thinner.

CONCLUSION

These are great tights for everyday running and are a really great price.
