Firepot Dehydrated Expedition Food by Outdoorfood review

Having spent a lifetime carefully reading the listed ingredients on packages to avoid preservatives and additives that might impact on my health, being forced to compromise on my dietary choices with additive packed expedition food has always been a concern.

33Shake Endurance Nutrition Review

I’ll be honest: despite being an endurance athlete for 10 years now, and having tried most nutrition products available, I hadn’t heard about 33Shake Endurance Nutrition until they started sponsoring the monthly Race Review competitions on RunUltra, and so it’s with impartial eyes and an unbiased palate that I reviewed a couple of their products.

Top Herd Review

I spotted Top Herd on Twitter and got in touch to ask if I could review their products because, like so many runners, I am often desperate for a snack that is not sugary when I am out on a long day. Too often, I pack my food carefully only to find that when I am on the route, I just can’t force it down.

Arbonne Review

Purition shakes review

In case you haven’t noticed, there is a whole new genre of nutrition coming at you – we have had meal replacement shakes (think Slimfast), recovery shakes, muscle shakes and protein shakes for a long time now… And I have tried to avoid them all. 10 Best Energy Gels review

So, lets get the debate out of the way, straight away. Gels are Marmite – you either need them or hate them (Nobody can love them right?). Energy gels remain part of the nutrition armoury of many runners, often as a “get out of jail free card”. They typically deliver concentrated sugars/salts/caffeine in a quick hit, they have developed from those nasty tasting sachets that were once like industrial by-products to some more palatable interesting natural flavoured pick me ups.

We review the 10 Best Energy Bars on the market – Trading off Nutrition vs Weight vs Flavour is a bit of a minefield –as is looking at the tiny writing on the back or the wrapper, so we have taken the legwork out of this and, purely in the interest of science and journalism, have had to taste these treats.
