inov-8 Trailroc 285 review

As I pull open the box of a brand-new pair of Inov-8 Trailroc 285s, I look down and a smile stretches across my face. I’m back to being 14 again and thinking that I’m going to look like the coolest kid at the disco.

Best ultra running socks review

They are probably your least expensive bit of kit but they protect your most important asset – your feet. Blisters, bruising, and toe nail trauma can all be alleviated by wearing the right socks for the right conditions and for your feet. I have been trying out a variety of different brands over the past few weeks, working out what I think works best where and why.

Columbia Titan Ultra shirts review

Columbia has created a collection of clothing specifically for strenuous and extreme activities, such as training for ultra running. Included in the range is a long-sleeve half-zip shirt and a short-sleeved top. Both come in male and female fit.

Craft Running Wear review (Men’s)

I may have had my head buried in the sand, or been looking the wrong way, but I wasn’t aware of the Craft brand. Perusing their website, they’ve been in the game for the last 40 years and have a large range of clothing on the UK site that covers running, cycling and leisure wear.

SCOTT Vector Sunglasses review

Summer is here and sunglasses are a must-have item for most ultra runners. I tried out these Scott Vectors in absolutely ideal conditions for a real work out – hot, humid, very windy, Moroccan beach runs. There was plenty of glaring sun and pouring sweat to test them to the max.

Conti Thunder Run 2017

"I hope you f***ing die tomorrow" came the angry reply. I stare up at the temporary canvas roof and try to work out how much sleep I need to prepare for tomorrow’s challenge. I realise there’s not enough hours left.

The Scarpa Proton Trail Shoe review

Scarpa, the Italian footwear company, are well known for their hiking boots and probably less known for their range of running shoes. They shouldn’t however be ignored if you are looking for a versatile tick-all-the-boxes shoe.

ON Cloudventure shoes review

ON is a Swiss shoe manufacturer, known for their unorthodox and innovative approach to running shoe design, who have been making small steps into the trail running market. Built around a classic chassis with a sole comprising 11 separate cloud “pods”, the idea is similar to the idea of compartment sprung mattresses, with the objective of giving you independent suspension for greater grip and comfort.

Craft women’s summer running kit review: Habit top, Breakaway jacket, Essential 5” shorts

Summer running is here with its focus on cool, sweat-wicking kit and enough thin layers to keep you warm when the temperature drops. I tried out a trio by CRAFT: a vest top, shorts and lightweight jacket. This kit came in at a very reasonable price and so I was interested to see if it still delivered.

Montane women’s VIA Claw 14 pack review

Specifically designed for women and trail running, the Montane VIA Claw 14 pack includes a host of features that may or may not be useful. I put it to the test while trail running. The men’s version is the Montane Via Razor 15.
