Four Passes

I wrote a full review of this event after its first running in 2016 (see below). The minor issues I mentioned from last year were fully resolved and everything was organised to perfection. I just wanted to briefly update my review as I had a very different race this year. The conditions were incr...

Gower Ultra 50

If you have never been to the Gower, go for a visit. It's stunning. But if you love to run and want to see the best bits of this area of outstanding natural beauty, do this Event! (it will help enormously if you don't mind suffering whilst enjoying the views.) Well marshalled parking followed by...

10 Peaks Brecon Beacons

The 2017 long course was my 5th ultra but probably way harder than anything I'd done before. Registration was the most efficient I've been through, hand in photo ID, have your photo taken, kit check, numbers issued, gps tracker strapped to bag, collect t-shirt and you are done, all in just a few m...

Round Ripon Ultra 35

Nice introduction to ultra distances. Mixed terrain, maybe a bit too much tarmac for my liking. As said before, navigation is a bit tricky, it is worth sticking to the locals ;-) Good check points, with water, gels and cake, plus savoury food at half way. Very friendly and supporting staff.

The race is made all that more special because it's limited to a number of runners, most of whom are returners each year. I was ...

The Wall

A well organised, nice and 'runnable' event. Registration the night before was fast and easy. Biggest stock of food I've ever seen at the checkpoints. Well marked route, and great support from the marshalls too

Winter Run to the Castle

Lovely route. Well signed. SUPERB medal at the end. Highly recommend giving this one a go!
