Jedburgh Ultra Marathon - Three Peaks

2016 and 2017 A great introduction to Ultras if you are looking for one to try. The hill section is stunning and gives your legs a break from the running.

The John Muir Way Ultramarathon

If you like coastal running this race is for you. There are nice sections through the dunes and along the beach followed by green countryside. You are taken to the start by coach so parking and getting to the start is hassle free.

Devil o' the Highlands Footrace

2017 I ran this race for the first time this year and I have to say I absolutely loved it. It is very challenging as it is so hilly but the views and the atmosphere make up for it. I love the logo too and sport my buff a tshirt with pride. :-)

Fregona Trail Fest

We are standing full of excitement below the clock-tower in the city center. The race-countdown can be heard in the background: in only very few seconds we will start to a 82k run, and 4600 meters of climb. Fregona Trail Fest – our chosen annual (2017) challenge. 15 minutes later, we're already...

Wooler Trail Marathon

I took part in the November 2017 event. I'd joined the facebook group for the event aand this provided good updates and pre run info. On the day, as i got to the hostel for the start, I realised it was opposite the house my great uncle had lived in in the 70's when I was last in Wooler, so I took...

Brecon Beacons Ultra Marathon ( Beacons Ultra ) (/Events/Brecon Beacons Ultra Marathon

I was a little apprehensive going into this race. However I was very pleasantly surprised in many ways. Firstly the organisation of the event getting their parking up being briefed all seemed to go very smoothly from them, we were not organised. Secondly and for me the biggest factor was the ma...

Mince Pi Run

Race: 17.12.17 I decided to go for 5 laps this year (a bit more than a half marathon - 25km), however, this time trailer shoes were a must and I wasn't wearing mine, it was very muddy (to start with the mud is frozen so it was ok, however, by 10:30 the mud was slushy and very slippery so I didn't...

Winter Run to the Castle

09.12.2017 Beautiful route with some stunning scenery, especially with snow on the mountains! Very well organised and signed, friendly marshals at each CP with well stocked aid stations, very friendly and professional organiser. Medals are AMAZING! Can't wait to do this event again!
