Hi Dorunrun-59. If you're after a trail shoe for a specific use, it's best to go into a specialist running shop, as different models may or may not suit your feet. Most non Gore-tex trail shoes generally drain very well. Check out our 'reviews' section of the site for ideas. Thanks

Amazon ultra in June..yikes!!, my biggest concern is looking after prolonged periods of wet feet which inevitably makes for soft skin. How best to prepare for that I am still unsure..., toughen them up with vinegar beforehand...socks or no socks, what best I wonder? I am looking at trail shoes that will drain well, while also affording protection on rocky river beds. Preparation for this one is certainly more challenging than the other mountain , desert ones thus far. Fail to plan , then plan to fail and all that stuff plays on the mind..........

Great overview of some proper training protocols. Good luck in 2020...I have the Coastal Challenge on my radar for 2021.
